The James Bond which millennials have learned to love, Daniel Craig, is returning to the classic role in upcoming James Bond films. A few months back, there was talk that Daniel Craig turned down the chance of playing James Bond, giving the character to another actor.
Back in 2006, Daniel Craig took the role of James Bond and earned a place in the hearts of Bond fans across the world. With such huge boots to fill, it seemed like Craig fit the role perfectly. With the next James Bond film set to star Daniel Craig, it will be the fifth 007 that he is in.
Casino Royale was the first film from Daniel Craig as 007 with the last film being Spectre. Filming for the next Bond film will start in 2018, Craig has agreed with the film’s director Barbara Broccoli to take the role. With filming beginning next year, its release date is set for around 2019/2020.
Christopher Nolan has also been rumoured to direct the next 007 film, although no official statement is with us just yet.
Daniel Craig has raked in a whopping $839 USD from the last five films, without accounting for inflation. Skyfall (2012) was the most popular James Bond film, bringing in $304 million USD. Sources have not yet stated the change in heart for Daniel craig, although the franchise may have offered him a check he could not refuse.
